George Clooney received Bob Hope Humanitarian Award to a standing ovation

I reported earlier today that George Clooney would be receiving the Bob Hope Humanitarian award.

The ‘A’ lister is the fourth recipient of the award. He accepted the award to a standing ovation.

He jokingly told the crowd not to do that because he would feel that something was wrong with him and he did not know.

He went onto say he remembers Bob and Delores Hope visiting his aunt and they would gather and sing.

Clooney said bad press is sucking up all the attention.  He feels the attention should be placed on events that truly need it (e.g., Pakistan, Sudan, Haiti, etc.).  He said the camera lights should go on and stay on until the events have been eradicated.

Kudos to George Clooney for all of his past, present and future humanitarian efforts.
