Donovan returns to Philly for standing ovation, leads Redskins to lead over Eagles

October 4, 2010 1 comment

Sunday Donovan McNabb led the Washington Redskins to a 17-12 victory over his former teammates the Philadelphia Eagles.

When McNabb’s name was announced he received a standing ovation.

“You realize you spent 11 years here and I knew it was coming,” McNabb said of the greeting, which he said made him happy.

“I didn’t expect them to cheer the whole game, that wouldn’t be right. I put on the uniform and I knew I was an opponent today.”

McNabb raised his right arm to salute the folks in the stands and, soon after, embraced his successor, Michael Vick, near the 40-yard line. McNabb supported the Eagles’ signing of Vick as his backup a year ago. (Black America Web)

Kroger grocery stores pulled boxes of Cincinnati Bengals Chad Ochocinco’s cereal from their shelves on Thursday, after several philanthropist called the phone number listed on the boxes and received a sex line instead of being connected to Feed the Children.  The correct number is 1-888-HELP-FTC.

“I’ve been part of the (Feed the Children) and been doing things to help bring awareness to the causes. Having the cereal was another way,” Ochocinco told the Cincinnati Enquirer. “Anyone I’ve affected I really do apologize. Some people got a laugh out of it, others are upset.

“It’s a little bit of a negative but it sheds a positive light on what I’m doing. They have to get the right number 1-888-Help FTC. Not 800. If you dial 800 you’re on your own.”

The cereal was supplied by a supplier in Pittsbugh, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Ochocinco made light of the incident by saying

“Remember, this was made in Pittsburgh.  Something isn’t right.”

Although this was a mistake, it brought positive awareness to Ochocinco’s charitable involvement.

Are NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal and reality star winner of ‘I Love Money’ Hoopz engaged?

Sam David, owner of the Sahra Mediterrean Cuisine and Hookah Lounge in St. Louis Missouri told the St. Louis Dispatch that Shaq and Hoopz were patrons of his establishment and

He (Shaq) brought a chair into the middle of the dance floor and put a ring on her finger.

If Shaq did indeed propose to Hoopz, then congratulations are in order.  I hope both of them will be happy together.
