Google Music will be arriving in time for holiday purchases?

September 3, 2010 Leave a comment

Hypebot.com says according to sources, Google is in the final stages of discussions with labels to be able to open a downloadable store as well as player that will allow users to hear songs via mobile technology.

Unidentified label executive told Reuters

“Finally here’s an entity with the reach, resources and wherewithal to take on iTunes as a formidable competitor by tying it into search and Android mobile platform.  What you’ll have is a very powerful player in the market that’s good for the music business.”

Google must know that Steve Jobs is waiting in the wings for the final final of this discussion, because he does not take kindly to competition.  Ask Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe and the list goes on.

Ted Cohen, former EMI exec says

“If they get it right, it will hasten the transition by consumers from music you have to own to music you need ubiquitous access to”

Rapper Black Rob (born Robert Ross) sits down with ThisIs50.com for a video interview.

In his interview Black Rob talks about Bad Boy and Diddy not his best interest at heart.

Black Rob says …

“Dudes treat you like McDonalds fries man in the game sometimes especially when you are dealing with certain people.  You know when McDonald’s fries get cold you ain’t gonna want it no more.  You know that right?  So that’s how Bad Boy was treating dudes at that time”.
