President and chairman of Marvel Comic Stan Lee (born Stanley Martin Lieber) is teaming up with popular cable channel MTV to create a new digital comic series called “The Seekers.”

“It involves superheroes, it involves a very high-concept plot, it’s a story such as you never have seen before, and it spans the centuries,” the 87-year old comic legend says in a telephone interview from New York Comic Con.

Lee is thrilled to be working in the digital arena again.

“It’s thrilling because it’s a whole new discipline,” he said. “But it’s a funny thing: Whether it’s electronic, whether it’s digital, whether it’s on paper, whether it’s on a television screen, it’s the story that counts. You don’t let the fact that there’s a different area of exhibition change the fact that you need a great story filled with action and surprises and suspense.”

Stan Lee is the co-creator of the amazing Spider Man, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, the Hulk, the mighty Thor, Daredevil and countless other comic book characters for connoisseurs of comic books to read and collect.

“The Seekers” will be available on MTV’s new MTV Geek website. The site launched last week.
