Supreme Court to start new term with new justice, Elena Kagan

The United States Supreme Court, located in Washington, D.C., is gearing up to start its new term.  The new term will commence on Monday with a new justice, Elena Kagan.

Kagan will sit on the opposite end of the bench as Justice Sonia Sotomayor.  Sotomayor was confirmed as a justice last year.

The justices have a lot of work ahead of them this year.  They will hear cases from imposing laws on hiring immigrant workers to California law banning the sale of violent video games for children and more.

According to AP, the court will deny many of the 2,000 appeals that have piled up in recent months.
