Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery is presented with Yousuf Karsh portrait of Charles M. Schultz

Friday, Oct. the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery in Washington D.C. will received a portrait of ‘Peanuts’ founder Charles M. Schultz.  The portrait is by Yousuf Karsh.

The ‘Peanuts’ have impacted millions across the world for over six decades.  The comic strip still runs in over 2,200 newspapers worldwide.

Saturday marks the 60th anniversary of the ‘Peanuts’ strip and the Portrait Gallery will show “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” during its family festival.

Charles M. Schultz died 10 years ago.
