City of Los Angeles being sued after shutting down the Tiesto concert in wake of teen’s death

The city of Los Angeles is being sued for breach of contract.   Insomniac, Inc. is suing the city because they cancelled the Tiesto concert in October at the Convention Center, due to the death of a 15-year old girl.

The young girl is suspected of dying from a drug overdose.

One-hundred and eighteen arrests were also made.  Most of the arrests were from drug possession.

Uhm … am I missing the point?  I can understand the organizers wanting to recoup their loss(es), BUT a death and 118 arrests occurred during their event.

As a parent I would definitely want this event shut down.

The organizers may have opened up a can of worms with this case, because the law pendulum rocks both ways and parents as well as party goers could have the right to sue Insomniac, Inc. if they see fit.

According to Associated Press …

The city attorney’s office said Monday it is reviewing the lawsuit and would not comment.
